Feel the seasonal magic from the moment you arrive — our hotel will still be glowing with twinkling lights, vintage decorations, and a tree that’s become a bit of a guest tradition — all ready to create that magic atmosphere.
Scarborough still has plenty to offer in winter, with bracing coastal walks, crisp sea air and those simple seaside traditions that never take a break — fish and chips on the seafront, a cheeky ice cream even in December, and the irresistible pull of the 2p slots. It’s a spectacular time to visit, with two brilliant shows on stage: Puss in Boots at the Stephen Joseph Theatre and Robin Hood at The Spa. New Year’s Day brings two much‑loved traditions: the famous Scarborough Dip in South Bay, where brave (and often fancy‑dressed) swimmers charge into the sea, and the New Year’s Day Orchestra at the Spa, a long‑standing favourite with locals and visitors alike.

Join us at The Headlands Hotel for New Year with our 3-night party package arriving on Wednesday 30th December, leaving on Saturday 2nd January.
Wednesday - 30th December
Your New Year break begins with a relaxed two-course evening supper, followed by live entertainment in our bar from the wonderful vocalist Beth Harrop.
Thursday - New Years Eve
Kick off New Year’s Eve in the bar with a welcome glass of fizz, followed by a hot and cold buffet. The amazing Callum Marshall provides the acoustic entertainment to take us through the evening and a glass of fizz at midnight to see in 2027.
Friday - New Years Day
Relaxed later breakfast served a little later from 9:30AM. After watching the New Year's Day Dip and enjoying everything Scarborough has to offer, our bar will be open with food available from our evening menu. Later, join us in the bar from 8.30pm for some light‑hearted fun and games to round off your stay.
Saturday - 2nd January
After breakfast, enjoy a later checkout at 11:00am as New Year in Scarborough comes to a close for another year.
