For those that like to explore a bit further afield the North Yorkshire Moors, Dalby Forest and the beautiful Forge Valley are all within a few minutes drive. Scarborough is also ideally located as a base for visiting to the north Whitby with its Abbey and Dracula experience, Goathland and Grosmont in Heartbeat country. To the south there is Filey, the historic market town of Beverley and Hull with its many attractions including The Deep and ice rink. To the west of Scarborough we have Pickering, the North Yorkshire steam railway and Flamingo Land, Eden Camp at Malton, Castle Howard and of course York. |
